I've only read up through page 16. Will read more tomorrow.

I have a SPIKES M4 in 5.56
+ Kicks ass and shoot great,
+ Ultra light and i'll bet it's good past 400 yards
+ Can carry lots of ammo
+ Quite reliable
- I would not trust it in room clearing... ever. (unless i modded for full auto. even then maybe not.)

I have a RRA .458 Socom
+ Also kicks ass, great just pas 100 yards
+ would trust for room clearing just as much as a 12 ga.
- Reliability, hasn't earned my trust yet.
- Can't carry very much ammo at all, can't find ammo anywhere but online, SUPER EXPENSIVE to shoot.
- Not so great for rapid followup shots. (not that you need one if you hit the target)

NEW SCAR-17 !!! (haven't shot it yet)
+ Would reach past 600 yards
+ One and done stopping power
+ Would trust for room clearing 90% as much as 12 ga.
+ As reliable or more reliable than M4
= Carry Less ammo than 5.56 but i have a feeling, you can carry enough to get the job done.

Even through I haven't shot it yet, I'm leaning toward SCAR-17S

If I didn't get the SCAR, I was looking at the ACR next in 6.8 spec.

Compact, reliable, takes common ammo in a common mag, accurate as a mid to close range rifle, and more recently with an underbarrel grenade launcher capability.

Never Forget.
I'm not sure the everyone knows that the ak is the best. I personally have a few of them and they get shot the least. They are ok, more of a pick up and shoot weapon to me. I know this much if I handed you my colt m4 and an ak and you shoot the both, well I won't even finish the sentence. Dont get me wrong the ak is awsome but its not ar. As for the fs2000 I will agree with you there. I like it as a whole and in the future am going to look more into the details of it. Fn is my personal favorite everything, and it will complete the collection.

I have a few friends who are looking at the spikes m4. Would you recommend them? They are pretty inexpensive so it throws them off a bit. I personally love spikes parts. I believe them to be top notch. Please share so that i may pass along the info.

The ak may be the best gun to beat the living crap out of, but when it comes down to it the ar is made to be more versatile and accurate, period.

So far i have zero complaints. I paid too much for mine, but that was my own
fault and also partly CA's fault. I changed the furniture to magpull after. feels
great. I have 1 in 7" 16" barrel. Fired brass and steel shells, eats them both
up.

Y'Know guys, we already have an AR picture thread... isn't it about time for this countless times rehashed "what's the best thread" to die?

Why is it that everyone loves the ak so much? I personally never had to come out of a river like Rambo shooting mud out the barrel. My ar platforms proved to be extremely reliable. Is anyone havin trouble with their ar?

Well you sure are. And found an easy way to run up your post count without helping others much. Why do that when you can just bump your own thread when it dies off.

Y'know maybe it is time to move on.
