Beginning the process of my first AR build
Okay, finally decided to take the step. It'll take a month or so to get all the parts together, but I just ordered my lower. Realized I'm never going to get this damn thing done if I don't go ahead and, pardon the pun, pull the trigger.

Looked just about everywhere for a Spikes, but no one seems to have one, and PSA seems to have a good rep, so I decided it would work.
I'll keep a running tally on parts and tools, until I get it finished.
Currently, counting S&H, I am at $89.95.

It's a fun process. Every day's like Christmas waiting for Big Brown to drive up the driveway.
Plus, when you're finished, the rifle is yours, really yours.

Not yet. I want to build it in parts as well. I am looking forward to getting to know the rifle intimately.

One more question. You look online and there's this assembly of tools. What do you need for an AR build?

1) Barrel nut wrench/combo tool . The combo tool will have the wrench you will need to tighten the barrel nut and install the muzzle brake if you are putting one on. It will also have the wrench for installing a free float handguard barrel nut. 2) Vise block. This will secure the upper receiver safely in a vise so you can torque the barrel nut and flash suppressor. 3) Punch set and hammer. You will need these if you are installing a standard pinned on front sight tower. A bench block helps here also when installing the pins. Hex head tool set for gas blocks with set screws. 4) Roll pin punch set. This is for installing the gas tube in the gas block/front sight tower. 5) Strap wrench. For tightening a free float handguard if you are installing one.
