Default BCM Comp Mod 1...compensator

I've been patient...
1 more pay period and i'll be purchasing my BCM upper...

I will be going with the 14.5" BFH w/ KMR13 and I'm deciding on what to put on the end of it...

Has anyone used the BCM Comp Mod 1?

how does it compare to other compensators you've used?

should I pay up for the FCS556 or one of the SureFire ones?

thoughts?

I haven't used it but make sure your overall length is above the legal limit unless you have a tax stamp for a SBR. Really any comp you put on a 14.5" will get you over but just make sure!

I haven't used the BCM comp M1 BUT BCM is an extremely amazing company and I am sure none of their products could steer you wrong. Check out some youtube videos of the different comps you are thinking about!

on second thought, I'm sure you'll need to know what I'm using it for.

well, I kind of want an all around gun...possibly for 3 gun

something that just cuts off a little more recoil than the standard bird cage

im willing to pay more for something much better, but the BCM Comp Mod 1 is such a good deal...and they will pin and weld it for me..

so if its performance is similar to the more expensive ones than I'll go with it..

thoughts?

Have tried both the PWS and SureFire. I def choose SF over others all day long.
Specially for 14.5", it will get the job done staying flat.

Here is my video shooting the 14.5" with SF brake at 25 yards.

The BCM comp mod 1 seems to be good all around..

Which is cool, but what's an extra $50?
I'd hate to look back a year from now and regret not spending a little but more for something that is not permanently installed on my 14.5" barrel.
I could get a 16", but i already have one and there's something about a 14.5 that gets me excited..

I know the SureFire one performs great, but has anyone used the FCS556?

I somehow feel this thread is going to turn into a carbine length VS. 20" length battle. I would go with a 14.5" and slap that BCM mod 1 on there and call it done! I have been doing some researching of my own, you've inspired me. I will let you know if I come up with any other variations to take a look at. Good luck

If your going to shoot really fast a sure fire brake is better but its a ear buster loud even with hearing. Ive got a surefire 556 removed it for the bcm comp. Better for general.shooting.

The bcm comp is really nice i use it on my scar17 as well. But its not a competition comp.

Personally i would stick with a 16". Your just giving up velocity for no reason on a 14.5 as your just welding that extra length back on. Plus your stuck with whatever device you choose forever.

I mix mine around for need. Either do the sbr tax stamp or go 16". Then you can use whatever you want as needed.

JonM pretty much nailed it.

Go 16" and change muzzle devices as often as you like.
Check this one too, SF just released a similar brake to the one you mentioned (the one i also used), it's called PROCOMP. Very very affordable.
