My first AR and first build was a BCM...I couldn't be happier with it!

Yeah, there are lots of threads on BCM here, a little searching will turn them up. I'm quite pleased with their 16" LW midlength upper I bought in early summer. Have bought other parts like BCGs, charging handles and receiver extension kits - all top notch.

You cannot go wrong with BCM.

One nice thing I think they're still doing is including two $50 DVDs free with purchase of an upper or complete rifle. Basic Carbine by Pat Rogers and Adaptive Carbine by Travis Haley. Very good videos!

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together. You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.

Excellent, going to save for a complete rifle. I like my Windham but definitely an entry level product.
