I second the Spikes suggestion an would also add in Ranier Arms. I have a Spikes in 5.56 with mid-length gas and it shoots great (1/7 twist) I also have the Rainier Arms Ultra Match in 300AAC. It is incredibly accurate.

I have 1 of the 1-8 16" criterion hybrids with a 223 wylde chamber. Hard to think Krieger does not make a good barrel even with the production barrel company. - http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/barrel-parts/rifle-barrels/ar15-m16-criterion-barrels-prod54733.aspx

How are the 1:8 hybrids? I was wanting a 1:8 barrel but had the same issue with finding one that I was looking for in stock.

How about the hybrids !! Its not a heavy barrel, its not a thin barrel. It a type of mid weight . Not sure what to say except the one ar15 I have seen shooting groups caused me to pick the criterion barrel for my build. I don't need a heavy bull barrel and did not want a m4 profile. I did want a 1-8 and a 223 wylde chamber. Go to brownells site and look at the photos of the different barrel weights of the criterion barrels. Maybe its what you want or maybe not.
