Default Barrel nut assembly question

Ok, so I am watching how to install the barrel, and the barrel nut assembly seems to have more than one part. I am curious as to what I should be looking at if I want a free float hand guard (quad rail carbine length). I know where to get JUST the barrel nut.

But for free float handguard, should I go with something like this?

Please assist.

First off, Any decent FF hand guard should have their OWN barrel nut. The one you show second looks to be a Yankee Hill nut. The one I used, and LOVE it.

If your free float does NOT come with it's own barrel nut I would NOT use it.

I just noticed the yankee hill free float quad has the barrel nut along with it. Thanks for pointing that out! I feel like an idiot, but hey, you helped.

Don't feel like an idiot, unless of course you are an experienced gunsmith with years of experience with the AR. If that is the case then YES you are an IDIOT. I had the same questions. Read alot, ask questions and learn, grasshopper.

NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION!!

Unless you should know better.
