pencil barrels will not last as long.

M4 barrels have the "cutout" for affixing a M203.

why ?

why would anyone want less than a 20'' barrel ? in a .223 NATO

i've had carbeans'' shot em' then putt em back in the safe.

they are loud' and most of the carbeans i see guys packing around are ''heavy''

just get a del-ton ''rifle'' kit, or the olympic arms G.I. rifle.
the plinker plus , cept its got A1 sights and a 20'' barrel.

your done. shoot the pee outta it.

c'on folks. we'er only talkin 4'' of extra barrel. keep it as eugene stoner designed it.[perfection]

put an A1 stock on it, never look back.

What's the difference between a Lite Barrel and a M4 profile barrel?

is there an accuracy/range difference between the two?
A lightweight barrel is simply a standard barrel that has been turned down to a smaller diameter to save weight. The M4 profile will be thicker towards the end and have a M203 cut-out.

I dont believe the accuracy b/w the 2 would become noticeable until you started dumping mags on full auto.

If only one barrel length is possible for 3 situations, the 18" barrel on a midlength gas system is a great setup.

Its physics. Simple as that. Pencil BBLs cannot dissipate the heat as well as a heavy or bull bbl.
