Barrel or complete upper??

i bought a new DPMS ar about 2 months ago. it has the 16 inch barrel. I would like to have a 20 inch barrel. i have thought about buying a barrel kit and i have thouhgt about getting a complete upper. what would be your suggestion??

It depends on what your intentions are for the 16" bbl. If you want to switch back and forth between the two, buy a complete upper. If you want to make a permanent switch, buy a barrel.

If you are going to get a 20" barrel, make sure it's a bull barrel so you get your moneys' worth as far as accuracy, otherwise you'll just have a longer barrel that doesn't shoot much better than the one you have!

thanks for all the info. the upper i am looking at has a 20 inch stainless heavy barrel it is also a flat top where the one i have now is a fixed carry handle. so what are the main differences between the 16 inch and 20 inch barrels?? besides the obvious it gets the bullet a little further out there.
