ATI/Omni lower...first impression
So recently I bought one of these ATI/Omni lower receivers at a gun show. Decided I would do a cheap build with it for my wifes range toy. Now keep in mind, this will not see a whole lot of action as it will be my wifes, but it helped me get my feet wet with an ar15.

The Omni is different than all the other polymer lowers as it has a full metal lower parts kit. This is an upgrade for those that have done the plum crazy or New frontier Arms lower. Looks like the common break points are a bit thicker.

I mated it to one of the lighter uppers I could find since my wife isn't very big. Found a good deal on a DPMS Panther Lite16 and waited for it to get delivered.

Put the two together in 5 minutes without a hiccup. Solid feel, no slop what so ever. Put my cheapo red dot on there and now a flip up rear sight.

Today I decided to try out painting the roll mark on this before I do it on my newly aquired Palmetto State Armory stripped lower. Heres how it tuned out.

Ready to get out to the range and start shooting.Total cost for this gun including the red dot....
$520 not to bad in my mind
Now I have started on another AR15 that will be a bit fancier.

I was thinking about one for a 9mm build.

The blowback action and heavier reciprocating parts in a 9mm upper can be harder on the gun than the .223 chamberings.

I had not thought of that angle.
