1st post - I've been hanging out here for a while and this is by far one of the best threads I've read. Thanks for the work you put into it.

Still trying to connect the dots - to wit, if guns kill people, then logically it follows that spoons make people fat, flash drives create computer hackers, and traffic signals cause vehicular accidents. Just saying...

Yeah. I don't tend to move fast. My mother thought she would never live to see grandchildren... LOL.

Thanks AgentTikki for a very well written, organized and concise summary of the AR15 platform. It really helped me gain an understanding of what I want in my first AR15 so it suits my needs best and also what I'll need to research further.

This is an awesome post. I just recently bought a lower receiver to sort of force myself to learn and build my own custom AR. Then I went looking at parts and was completely overwhelmed with the options and now have a pretty good idea what I want to do with it.
