Most uppers are gonna fit your S&W lower just fine. I have one and it's worked with every upper I've tried, including Colt, ArmaLite, Daniel Defense and Bushmaster.

If you run across one that doesn't fit, it's not the fault of the lower, S&W makes them to proper spec.

Rock River has a good reputation. My local gun shop sells a ton of their rifles.

Next time look into a Spikes lower. They are in spec and roughly $50 cheaper.

Yeah, $129 + transfer fee is pretty spendy. I bought mine locally for about that OTD locally. Paid about $120 for my ArmaLite OTD too.

Never regretted paying a little more for either rollmark though, I figure it's a drop in the bucket compared to the overall cost of the rifle so why not have the lower you really want. Well I would have liked a Colt...

Im hot for a Colt Lower too. Probably end up having to save up for the complete rifle though.

Yeah I'd love to have one along with a BCM or DD upper. At $200-250 Colt could sell all the stripped lowers it could make but it might cannibalize their rifle sales. Personally I think they'd make a lot more money than they lose. Nothing wrong with having a complete Colt AR but I'd rather top the lower with a LW midlength upper.

I kinda cheated to get a Colt rollmarked lower... bought the Colt/Walther/Umarex M4 .22lr. It weighs the same as an M4 and it is stamped Colt and M4. Doesn't hurt that it works great and is super cheap to shoot. Wish it really was made by Colt in the USA, not by Walther in Germany!

Have you purchased it yet? You might look at BCM.
