DefaultAR15 Govt.Model help

I have owned a Colt AR15 since the late 80s or early 90s but can't remember exactly when I aquired in a trade for a Remington 870 trap. the specs are as followed---Receiver AR15-A2 Govt.Model Cal .223 Ser. GS00841---Barrel is marked ONP 5.56 NATO 1/7. There is no bayonet lug and the finish is a light greenish-grey smooth parkarized. The mag that came with the gun is aluminum with the same finish and marked on the floor plate Parsons Precision products Parsons Ks. USA. I am not really into AR rifles and am giving it to my son. I would like a little history on this rifle and figured this would be the best source. A friend of mine said it was a Model 6550 whatever that is. Ballpark value in very good condition and shot very little. Thanks in advance for any info.

Manufacture date 1994 to now. Based solely on the lack of a bayonet lug. Colt stopped putting lugs on them in 1994 in reaction to the forces of evil and crime banning guns at the time. Parsons is a maker of ar mags for the military and civilian market it isnt original to the colt as all colt mags are marked colt. Colt actually gets their mags from them and other suppliers and roll marks em.

Sans pics and lkst of accessories and condition value anywhere from 2$ to 1200$

my blue book says discontinued 2002 nib value withh all accessories and papers etc 1050$ ending msrp 1144$ since its a colt and they are collectable to lots of peeps i would prolly say 1000$ as it looks to be in pristine shape.

start nocking off $$ for dents dings scrapes scratches and rust.

add 200$ if it came with the colt 22lr conversion. and 200-600$ if it came with a colt scope depending on the scope
