The shop nearby had it priced tagged at around $2500 it's gonna be a couple paychecks before I can even look at one haha :-) same with the ar 10.

Again better is a relative term. For a bench rest shooter, heck get your AR made out of steel, because heavier is better. However for a hunter or tactical heavier maybe not so good. Personally speaking if I were hunting out to ~300 yards, I would stick with the AR15 platform. I may consider bumping it up to the AR10 platform if I were shooting past that consistently.
