Consolidating my ARs in one post plus a couple other ARs ...
AR #1
BCM 16" LW midlength upper with BCM M16 BCG, Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle, MBUS Gen 2 rear sight and MOE handguards/pistol grip with IWC QD mount ---- 4lbs, 2.6oz
Valkyrie lower with DD LPK, BCM receiver extension kit, H buffer and CTR stock ---- 2lbs 3.7oz
4lbs, 2.6oz + 2lbs 3.7oz = 6lb 6.3oz basic rifle
AR #2
Daniel Defense 16" LW midlength upper with DD M16 BCG, Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle, MBUS Gen 2 rear sight and MOE handguards/pistol grip with IWC QD mount ---- 4lbs, 0.6oz
S&W M&P15 lower with DD LPK, BCM receiver extension kit, H buffer and CTR stock ---- 2lbs 3.7oz

PSA 16" midlength upper with BCM M16 BCG, Daniel Defense charging handle, carry handle and standard handguards/pistol grip ---- 4lbs, 8.4oz
ArmaLite lower with ArmaLite LPK, PSA receiver extension kit, H buffer and BCM M4 stock ---- 2lbs 3.9oz
4lbs, 8.4oz + 2lbs 3.9oz = 6lb 12.4oz basic rifle
AR #4 (Son-in-law's)
ArmaLite M15A4 16" HBAR midlength upper with ArmaLite AR-15 BCG, ArmaLite charging handle and ArmaLite standard handguards, carry handle ---- 5lbs, 2.6oz
Charles Daly lower with Stag LPK, DTI receiver extension kit, standard buffer and M4 stock ---- 2lbs 3.0oz
5lbs, 2.6oz + 2lbs 3.0oz = 7lb 5.6oz basic rifle

Bushmaster Carbon-15
Carbon-15 14.5" M4 carbine length upper with BM AR-15 BCG, charging handle, integrated rear sight and standard hanguards ---- 3lbs, 12.1oz
Carbon-15 lower with BM LPK, BCM receiver extension kit, standard buffer and M4 stock ---- 1lbs 14.1oz
3lbs, 12.1oz + 1lb 14.1oz = 5lb 10.2oz basic rifle

I don't know what all the fuss is about. You gotta carry it, you know when it's too heavy. My first M16 was 203! I also carried my ammo(40mm and 223), 40mm flares and smoke, extra barrel for the M60, several hundred rounds for the 60, flak vest, water, poncho, poncho liner, sox, draws, smokes, skid-lid, rations, and extra pair of glasses and my std survey gear. Then there was the extra stuff. Back then, we didn't have lazers, lights or optics. My current AR has the necessary stuf  f. If it don't work, it don't go.
