DefaultAR Platform caliber question

Ok guys, I am still fairly new to the Ar platform (and all the varieties) and a friend asked me the other day if there is an AR platform rifle in .45 ACP, and if so, are there "kits" available to build one yourself?

Yes. And Yes.

Olympic Arms makes a bunch of them. Even in Robo's favorite caliber.

Many pistol caliber uppers are available. Normally they work with standard lowers but you need a special magazine and possibly buffer/action spring.

Here's an Oly AR in 45ACP

Linda,Here's another choice.I thought about this one for a long time a couple years ago,but they were having some problems getting the lowers machined with the person that was doing them, and have since changed shops from what I last heard.
I lost interest in the project, but still have it on the back burner.

CNCGUNSMITHING - www.cncguns.com - AR45

Click on the forum, and you can find out if this thing is getting produced now by anyone.I haven't looked in a long time.
