And beautiful job on the wood of your WASR, DauntlessMarksman! After five years mine just got a few coats of tung oil and steel wool... Maybe I could do more!

Nice little rifle there...and I'm glad to see the only REAL "AR" get a little "pub". Most people on the forum seem to not be into them as much for some reason.

What is funny though, now that we are comparing the two rifles, is that the LWRCI cost me almost DOUBLE the ArmaLite, and I have atop it a genuine ACOG, but the big rifle gets ALOT more attention at the range. I pull the little rifle out, and people are like ....meh?....But the AR10 for some reason is a friggin' rock star.
Ha ha I look the same way after I'm done cleaning my AR, or any other rifle for that matter. I always hear that there is no major difference other than what you spoke of, the cleaning.
I know exactly what you mean too. People just love that larger system. Brings attention at my range too. Always seems to supersede the interest of the AR-15 and it's variants. It honestly cost you double the AR? That's serious cash.

Honest to God...I've taken it to the local indoor range, and before I left everybody including two of the three guys behind the counter that day put some downrange with it. Damnedest thing I've ever seen. It's hilarious to have people come over, watch, talk, and "Him Haw" around waiting on the four most popular words at the range...

"Ya wanna shoot it?".

Yeah...almost double. I'll try to find the receipts to see exactly how much more. But keep in mind, it came "factory" with a free float quad, Troy battlesights, med contour hammer forged bbl, magpul grip, and what was at the time the newest VLTOR E-mod buttstock. And I'm pretty sure everything meets or exceeds mil-spec, but don't hold me to that.

WAY more rifle than I hope to ever need, but hey...I really don't "need" an AR at all. But that ain't the point, either

That's a nice angle! I have a difficult time getting the cam close enough to see detail but still get the whole gun in the frame.
