I am about to upgrade my AR to add a sling. I'll be switching out the end plate for a QD mounting point. I'll also be adding a Magpul mid-length MOE stock (with a QD point added to the side) and AFG2 underneath it.

AR picture thread - AR-15 Discussion

I'm wondering...Black or Flat Dark Earth?

I don't plan on switching out the stock color or grip color and all my mags are black Pmags right now. I've just been looking through these hundreds of photos and the all-black rifles seem to be missing something.

So...what color?

Beautiful, just beautiful, mjkeat!

CHLChris, I know what you're saying about an all black AR, especially after seeing a nicely done FDE like mjkeat's. But there's something to be said for a black rifle, after all ARs are called black rifles!

Nothing wrong with getting a FDE sling and a FDE PMAG to test the water though! And maybe your next build you can go for it. Or since you're getting MOEs, go FDE then add a MOE pistol grip and stock (go CTR and you get a rear QD mount if you like that better than the end plate mount).

Anyway, back to all black, I'll drop in a few pics of my plain jane Black Widows... :-)

Thanks Quentin. I couldn't remember if I had posted one w/ the new mount. I just realized its not even the newest optic, wrong pic.

I like the LW mid upper. I put in a "I'll Take It" on a unused BCM 14.5" LW middy but haven't heard back from the guy. He's been online since I sent the PM so I hope someone didn't beat me to the punch.

Good looking rifle you for there dadnoel85. Stop on by the Introductions Section and let the folks know a little about yourself. If you are looking to build an AR, we have a ton of experience here to draw from.

Hope you get the BCM upper, MJ! You just can't beat a LW middy in my opinion. I'd love to see your latest picture/config of your beauty above...
