Tiki,

Did Paul do that at OC Custom Coatings or you?

Wes at FS Defense in Orange did it, slamming price for the 15" hand guards, stock, scope mount, upper and lower receivers. And he took the whole rifle and he disassembled and reassembled it.

I want to cerakote my truck in graphite burnt bronze........wonder how much that's gonna cost

But I don't have an AR. I have a "black rifle". Can I play too?

Great looking rifles Tikki and Tex!

I like Cerakote finishing a lot. Makes for a tough, clean, and sharp look...all while still being relatively 'matte'. Essentially all of the style without the impractical bling. I may do one of my builds that way at some point. STS Arms does complete Cerakote ARs (essentially every metal part of the rifle is coated), and I like what I'm seeing. They're only a few hours north of me and are stocked in a few local gun stores.

To this point, all I have is a couple rifles with C-koted M16 BCGs and one with a 'koted' stripped lower (all from STS). May look into to some pistol or shotgun options as well, as my budget allows. BTW- The STS BCG makes for easy cleaning and a very smooth action.

I'm thinking of putting one on the shorter of my 2 RR 9MM AR's...But, some ?'s a) Can you add a "Butt-pad" to the rear of the Brace to allow you to still Shoulder it, or "brace it against your hip" b) Assuming yours is a .223/5.56, do you find it more comfortable shooting it " at Arms Length" or with your off hand steadying it(bracing the front)?
I see what you did with the forward rail & the Fold down Handgrip! Swwweeet! Nice Build...

First, you cannot add a but pad to it. But....... It still feels good to shoulder it. I will let you know how it feels one I can run some rounds through it. It is a 5.56, so recoil is negligible. I don't see any reason it would not shoot fine from shoulder or hip as is. When strapped to your forearm as intended you feel like a cyborg! Holding in this manner you want to hold it out at arms length. When I tried to use my left hand on the afg and right hand strapped in, I could not get a clear sight picture through the green dot. The overall length and feel now really feels like an SBR. But it's a pistol! Perfect length for home defense.
