Those are really nice finger tips you took pics of! I like the ARs in the background too!

This is my first.
It is a base model BM I picked up at a decent price. I got this one to get a feel for AR's in general and to use as a reference for what I want to build/buy in the future.

I added the quad rail, went with a snap in because I wanted to make sure I liked it and didn't want to shell out the money for a free float until getting a feel for it. On my next one I will get a free float but probably not a quad, maybe a paneled. This one is pretty damn stout for a snap in though.

I do like the bipod for what I do which is just plink and maybe put down a few hogs when it gets cooler. I could take or leave the for grip. I will probably not go with one on my next one. Might do an angled grip but thats about it.

I took the carry handle off and installed a Magpul flip up rear which I really like. I like the flat top look better than the carry handle.

The scope is a Vortex Strykfire that has a doubler you can attach when needed. I really like this. It does everything I need for what I do and I didn't shell out an arm and a leg. Co witnesses perfectly with very little parallax under 50 and none over. It is extremely accurate too, even with the doubler. I was shooting quarter to nickel size groups at 100yds which is not bad for someone who has not shot for precision in almost 20 years.

My only gripe with the scope is that it has a push button on off switch which looks like it could very easily turn itself off and on when my weapon is in its case and in transport. I just turn the battery around when Im not using it to prevent this. It does have an auto shut off too.

Im learning a lot and starting to get a feel for what I want out of my next one. I want to start a build but don't know where/have not decided where to start. The build is something I will do over time and I will build for quality and durability.
So far I have put about 2k rounds through this guy with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I have had it about a month. Sorry for the rough pics, Ill get better ones one day but my camera is down so I used my phone. What do you guys think? Comments? Advice?

Oh yea. Its bad. I said I would start building once I got 1000 rds of ammo. I figured that would take a while, well I got it and a little earlier than I expected. I usually jump right into things thankfully this is one hobby I cannot afford to do that with. I will take my time and do it right. I shave with straight razors and have the fever with that as well. After about a month I accumulated over 30 vintage and new blades. Cant do that with AR's lol.
