My AR's are pretty much old school ... but I'm old

The most recent build is a 7.62x39 on a Bushmaster receiver

I freshened up this old PWA with a Osprey Defence piston system and a UBR stock ... added a RRA 2stage trigger for good measure

Last spring I had an itch for a AR57 and built this

This is my Service Rifle built for matches and Varmint rig ... both built before companies like Magpul and YHM existed and Ergo was still in its infancy ... the varmint got an upgraded YHM lightened chrome bolt & carrier a few years ago.

Since there is a 4 image limit, I've never heard of that before, but ok ...

DPMS sweet 16 with a RRA middy length float tube to cover the gas block and 2stage trigger makes it really sweet

Preban Bohica M16-SA Carbine

Preban Bohica M16-SA Pistol

Lastly Big Brother DPMS LR-308 with a few additions

Skydriver,

What brand magazines are you using for the 7.69 x 39?

What can you tell me about it?

I can tell you it is cambered in 5.7x28 and uses P/PS90 mags with up to 50 rd. capacity.

They are by ProMag ... and they work great! Back in the early 90's (before the ban) I had a Colt in 7.62x39 but sold it because the only option for mags was to put 5 rounds in a regular AR mag or Franken-mags that the top part of an AR mag welded to a AK mag ... and of the 2 I had they didn't feed well at all.

Well in addition to what russ said; Its a standard AR lower, and it works with the RRA 2stage trigger. It has a heavier buffer, 133 grams if I remember correctly ... ejects out the mag well, the mag I have installed is to catch the brass. Its kinda cool and you can buy an upper/build a lower for about 1/2 for what a PS90 costs. There are currently dies available so you can reload the brass. I built mine because I like the round for plinking but not a huge fan of the PS90 ... I have one and its a great concept but its like shouldering a 2x6 ... not nearly as elegant as the AUG or AKU-94

Where can I get the upper and how much would I be likely to spend?
