This is my first ar build and after a year in the making shes done. Nothing 2 crazy cmmg lower with dainal defence parts kit. Upper stag reciver and barrel with a custom bolt and carrier by me. Not to bad for being 24

Stock: 5 position Vltor IMOD improved modstock
DSA Upper, flat top 16" barrel with fixed front sight gas block
Flip up rear sight
Mid length quad rail with Magpul XTM rail covers
Grip pod vertical grip
A 3 point sling soon to have quick detach sling mounts

I want to get a red dot but I do not want to waste money on a cheap one. I'm planning on getting a nice eotech, just right now i'm focusing limited funds (due to being in my last year of a doctorate program) on ammunition and getting my reloading press up and running. At some point I hope to switch out the front gas block to either a flat one or a YHM flip up and I like the magpul flip up rear sights so I want to grab one of those one day. Any suggestions on red dots/holographics? Not looking for any magnification because I plan on an AR 10 build for long distance shooting.

eotech is a great place to start i recommend aimpoint personally just due to the fact that's what I have on mine and I like the enclosed red dot style over the opened up look of the holographic sights but both are proven to be effective and pretty close in price so in my opinion what it boils down to is the "look" that they have sitting on the rifle

#4 color pencil from any quality arts and crafts store, usual a hobby store will carry the best quality.

Brand new dpms oracle with magpul moe hand guard, grip and stock in fde. Attached is a vortex strikefire red dot. Best part of the gun was it was free. Purchased two on Christmas Eve, sold 1 on gunbroker which paid for both ar 15s and vortex red dot Sold the two dpms 30 rd magazines, grip, hand guard and and stock which paid for the magpul upgrades. Since I can't find ammo to go shooting, this is my new form of entertainment. Thank you mr gun salesman of the year
