Guess a quad rail and a removal tool will be my next purchases. Thanks for the info.

There are a few companies that make nice, albeit expensive, two piece free float rails, Troy, Midwest Industries, and( I think) Daniel Defense and VLTOR come to mind.

JL77, give us a side view of that rifle so we can see how tall the gas block is. It is possible, however unlikely, that it could be a tall gas block and your front sight might be just fine. I have seen a Magpul sight live on a tall gas block through a 2 day practical rifle class. Probably not a great long term solution, but it might work for now.

They also make longer back up iron sights for the gas block. Just saying it's an option in case $ was an option and the quad rail, tool was too expensive

Looks like the gas block is about a half inch lower than the rail. That would make sense because it was shooting about a foot high at 15-20 yards, when I took it to the range. A quad rail and removal tool is within my budget, so I'll try and snag one this week.

I have an actual AR bb/pellet gun- its nice ways about the same as an actual AR and its good cause if I ever want to just shoot for 10-15 minutes I don't have to go to the range, I can just go shoot in my garage
