AR Kit #1 Came- Loading Issue

Just finished building my first AR Kit (LMT 16" A3 5.56, 1:9) and i've been familiarizing myself with its funcionality by using snap caps.

I've been loading two snap caps in the magazine and have been finding that when I pull the charge handle it won't grab the snap cap from the right side, only the left (left as in left of the hump in the magazine).

Am I missing something or is there a deeper issue?

I made sure the snap caps were packed to the back of the magazine. It just seems like the bolt is sliding over the round and not grabing it from the right side.

Thanks!
J

*edit* I tried another magazine and it worked fine. Theres something about the magazines that have the green follower that the rifle just doesnt like..

Has anyone else had problems with the green follower mags?

Any one know what the difference between color means?

Is there a color code or just what resin was handy when molding?

I have 10 orange follower C-Products mags inbound and need to know if anyone has any experience with them?

Cane..

The mag follower type in the middle pic is the one that works fine.

I'm gonna head to the range hopefully tonight and try real ammo instead of snap caps (which are supposed to be the same size and weight).

Like I said over on JF, measure across the feed lips, front and back, and compare it to a known good magazine. Also, on your first few runs to the range, try some silicone spray or graphite on the front and back ends of the follower until it has a chance to get worn in.

I thought it might be useful to other AR newbs, so I posted here too.

Every one of my mags have enhanced springs from sawlesales.com and green followers. These are the first generation of "enhanced followers". There are subsequent variations from makers like Magpul. I have never had an issue with my setup.

When I was with the 82nd, my unit threw away almost 500 magazines when we got our M4s. The army switched to enhanced followers at the same time.
