Yeah. I might buy just a few parts now to kinda get the ball rolling on it and then keep saving some money. I also have a birthday coming up pretty soon too.

When I build mine, it will be a .50 Beowulf.

I bought my lower and uppers (one in 5.7, the other in 5.56) separately but complete. When I get back I plan on building a lower for my 5.56 and putting my current lower on my 5.7.

Then all that will be left is getting sights and slings and flashlights, bipods, and foregrips, and all sorts of other stuff I'll never need but make me look cool.

Since '98 I suppose I've built twenty-five or thirty ARs, from retro

to radical

It's great therapy.

Walt

Thanks.

Here's a work in progress; I've since added a repro 607 folding stock, and am contemplating an SBR registration:

Have I mentioned that I wrote a (with all due modesty) now-popular book showing how to build ARs ?

Regards,

Walt

That one's nice too, guess I'd better check out your books Walt! Especially AR and 1911 since that's what I have. I have a few books so don't know how I missed yours.

Walt,
Thanks for walking me (and soon my Dad) through my first AR build. Illustrations were accurate and I enjoyed the "tips, tricks and pitfalls" included with each step.

Also found your "Complete Owners Guide" very informative.

Good to have you!

ive built a couple dozen to sell and 3 for myself. one is an a2 design built on a bushmaster lower and an m&a kit (as was most of my builds). one is m4 type built on a s&w lower and one is an Olympic Arms .223 AR15 type flat top rifle. I built this rifle using an Olympic Arms lower and flat top upper receiver, fitted with an Olympic Arms ultra-match 24 inch bull barrel. It is fitted with a free floating round hand guard, a JP match trigger and topped with a 4-12 x 50mm mil-dot Tasco scope.. I have used it successfully on groundhogs out to 300 yards using Military green tip M855 ammo.
