Greetings all. I'm new in town and am planning on building a couple AR's.
I am very interested in the pistols and want to know do you need a dedicated pistol reciever to build one? Am i able to use a regular lower with a pistol upper?
If not Two rifles it will be for now.
And does anyone own an ar chamberd for 7.62?
If so how do you like it. I'm seriously considering that option as well.

Lowers must leave the factory as a pistol lower or be a virgin, never assembled to a rifle lower. Buying a stripped lower only should be recorded with your FFL fealer as "other" when you buy it. __________________

So as long a its a brand new reciever str8 from the factory to the FFL i'm good? And the stripped lower must be built from the pistol from the start? | |

You can buy a stripped lower - and you do not have to declare what you are building. You can but it and it's listed as "other".
Now, when you build it into an AR pistol ( and for whatever reason you want to do that for ) you have to follow all the criteria of a pistol, otherwise you would have a short barreled rifle and that would be illegal and get you some jail time...

Save some money,and buy a Kel-tec PLR16 223 pistol. It is a whole lot lighter,and easier to handle/carry than a AR pistol and it uses any AR magazine,and they are pretty accurate shooting guns. __________________

I hav read some good reviews concerning this pistol. But they are reviews by people who probably were payed to be yes men.
The review did not emphisize poor accuracy.
The appeal of it for me is the process of building it.
and the myriad of options to customize it just like any other ar platform
I like the fact that i can have a pistol that shoots 5.56(i have looked at that kel-tech)
Personally i dont think its "ugly as sin"
I like the way it looks. Maybe the functionality of it may leave something to be desired. But i have nevered fired one and figure if i dont like it i can always sell it or take it apart and make it a carbine. These pistols are growing in popularity and i hav e seen other sites where people praise their pistols.
i have checked out that kel-tech it looks pretty cool also. but not as cool as the ar- IMHO.
