Wow i bought my first ar a little over a month ago. I don't thank I knew the hammer spring from the bolt carrier (not literally but you know what I'm saying). But after reading this I fill comfortable on assembling one myself. Thanks for the grate info.

Great write up, Ben! You have a good way of relieving the stress on a new person contemplating a first build. Just the ticket for someone wanting to give it a try but afraid of what they could do wrong. Only suggestion: definitely 7075-T6 alloy for the lower and upper receiver, nice to have in the receiver extension too.

Very true! We do have a sticky showing pictures of lower receivers, many still available, but it's hard to keep anything with name brands and prices up to date.
