Ar 15
To anyone that can help. I've been looking into buying or building an AR platform. I know this is about the worst time to do so. I'm thinking about getting a kit from rock river to build my own. I'm not sure but I'm thinking I might not have to wait as long to have it shipped to my FFL this way. I'm looking

I'm looking for any suggestions for the best way to approach getting a new 556 223 rifle. I'm trying to find a 16" flat top. Should I wait for prices to go back to normal. Or should I bite the bullet and just get what I can now. Almost everywhere I look there asking around 1300.

I spoke to the sales rep at Rock river and they say there still taking orders but it could take months to get the rifle. Which is fine as long as the price is reasonable.

I would recommend either waiting or buying one you can put hands on. If legislation passes while you are waiting 6 months for your rifle you could have problems. Another question to ask yourself is can you even get ammo for it in your area?

Those are some good points. I'm from western pa. There is ammo available from time to time but not at the best price. I've heard that my local Walmart gets it. But you have to be there when it arrives.

I've been really disappointed at myself for not building one before that moron ruined the market for everybody . It's a shame that a responsible law abiding citizen that pays taxes can't buy a semi rifle without paying twice what it's worth. And now the government wants to take them away and have us fire shotguns blindly into the night off our back deck.

If you shop walmart at the right times, they still get AR's in stock from time to time, and they still get ammo from time to time. I got 100 round value pack by Federal the other night for $35. They still have the Colt AR come in for right about $1000

I'd take a few days and wisely use them to really get a grasp on what you want the rifle for and what configuration you want to buy. Definitely read and understand the AR Primer sticky. Read through the threads that discuss brands and make your own decision on what's as good as.
