Striker,

You are right on the money! I hear everyone's opinion about the quality of receivers from one brand to another and how great they are and others are not as good. I almost have to chuckle sometimes and here is why! Sharing a little trade secret! The guy that owns Stag Arms, his father owns a well known machine company who makes receivers for at least 10 other AR manufacturers in the industry as well as other AR parts. Bottom line there are 10 companies that the receivers come from this same place with their name on it! And most of those companies actually do not produce anything on their rifles they purchase the parts and assemble them. So if Stag Arms father owns the company that produces for 10 other companies it would be a far stretch to think that he would send his son junk or inferior quality receivers and parts. Blood is Blood! Kind of like most good quality Bolt Carrier Groups which most weapons have come from the same company on the East Coast with various marking for the certain company. With all of this it comes down to what someone has had good luck with and what they like! Kind of like GM owning Cadillac, Chevy, Buick, GMC and in the past Pontiac and Oldsmobile. Pick a car or vehicle a lot of the parts come from the same manufacturer but come in the appropriate brand packaging.
Just a little industry insight! One should buy what he or she likes, works for them and feels comfortable with. It is called brand confidence! My thought is if an AR runs good, shoots good, protects you, is reliable and the shooter likes it! It is a Da__ Good AR Weapon, no matter what is on the Receiver since many of the parts in reality came from exactly the same place and off of the exact machines. How the assembler of manufacturer finishes them does and can make at least a cosmetic difference and in some cases functional differences by lessening the quality of other parts they use in the assembly process. I can only think of two companies that are on occasion guilty of that: And they are not Stag, Rock River, LMT, Spikes, Daniels Defense, or CMMG, or Colt. THE END!
