It's lighter is probably the only real advantage. That and it just sounds cooler.

Hrm, I'd be kind of worried about the thermal expansion properties of titanium vs steel. Well on second thought it is less dense than steel so it should expand faster, so as it heats up it shouldn't get loose or anything...nevermind, carry on....
