any quality difference in the 512 and the XPS? I'd prefer it smaller and the XPS fits that bill. They make a 2 dot version for about $480 or so.

I havent seen a quality difference, its just shorter and takes the small lithium batteries

Rereading the op.

If this is gonna be a truck gun, I'd probably run an aimpoint, with a fixed mount. it may get thrown around / banged up a bit, so being nigh indestructible and being able to leave the unit on for 4 years is a deciding factor to me.
