Hernia repair is elective as well. you can wear a truss. But I chose not to, and I've never regretted it.
My friend lost his sight due to refractive surgery years ago. His medical insurance would not pay a dime because elective surgery to the cornea was considered cosmetic since it was not necessary. He had to sue the company along with the opthamologist. He lost against the former and won against the latter. Hernia surgery normally is covered by decent medical insurance because it can be a medical risk, unlike slightly less than optimal eyesight that can be corrected with external lenses. Of course I cannot know what every insurance classifies various treatments, nor can you.

Glasses are cheap in comparison to surgery and normally correct vision better than refractive work on the cornea. I'd rather break my glasses than trash my corneas. Ask my buddy.

Sorry for the hijack...

I really would like that cqt, as all of my hunting rifles and some pistols have leupolds on them....but they are pretty spendy

I just threw that in to stir the pot. Its a great scope but the eye relief sucks for the ar platform.

What about if you didn't have the cash?Which would you opt for; the 512 or the PRO?

I'd honestly go with the eotech. I used them while in the Marine Corps. I have seen them take such abuse and hold up great. The aimpoints tend drown out in bright light.

You have to put a lot of weight to that fact...
