FWIW, I have a Surplus Ammo and Arms(sold side by side w/ Aero Precision) lower that I built for my son, My biggest gripe was the finish seemed to scratch or chip off fairly easily, Not a deal breaker for the $60 I paid for it.
Agreed on what exactly you are trading and for what.
Best of luck.

Okay. Just traded. I gave a fnp .45 tactical that I had $700 in for the rifle. came with an eotech 512 that is 2 weeks old. Regular tapco commercial stock. Daniel defense 12" omega rail with Troy flip up sights. Mid length gas system. No name bcg without a staked key but whatever. Will replace later with bcm bcg. So all in all, I've got about 250 in the rifle after you minus the cost of the optic. Not too shabby I say.

To make sure I understand.

You traded a $700 FNP for a Frankengun made from unknown parts?

Aero lower w/ PSA lpk. (he showed me the receipt and package)
Upper receiver and bcg still unsure
PSA 14 1/2" barrel with blackout flash hider covered by DD omega 12" rail
Troy flip up battle sights
Eotech 512

Missed out on info earlier. We just got back from range. 400 rnds. Flawless. I don't think it's too bad.

You traded for an AR of unknown origin. Good luck.

Sorry, but I don't understand your concern. All parts and items mentioned are quality. What am I missing. Anytime a person buys a used gun it's of unknown origin. Well majority of the time. Could you elaborate?

What do you feel are the most important parts of an AR?

I get it but I look at what I gained. As stated I only had 700 in the gun I traded. There's easily that there. I just need a good bcg and that will be that. I do wanna change that stock though.
