Default A2 stock fitment

I just picked up an A2 stock for my build but it has a slight gap between it and the lower. The screw is tightened all the way, I don't know if there's different size spacers available ? I don't think they're supposed to have that end plate right?

Is the spacer that drops into the stock turned the right way so that it nests on the buffer tube properly? If it got flipped around it might leave a gap.

The guy at the gun shop said it was a stag kit. It was used but for $35 I didn't even think twice

check inside the stock for anything the previous owner may have stuffed in there to allow room for a m4 style end plate. there maybe a washer or something in the stock itself.

I ordered the a2 sling adapter from brownells and it fixed the problem. There wasn't anything inside the stock so I guess it was just cut a little to short,
