Just got the final piece of my AR. The barrel. Daniels Defense 1in7 chrome lined and 16" long. The only problem is that the holes for the wedge pins for an A-2 front sight, have not been drilled. I assume at this point I will either have to get a low profile gas block and a flip up front sight or pay a gunsmith to drill the holes for me.

So My question to the fine folks here is....Are these indeed my only options or is there something I'm overlooking?

I wanted to swap out the gas block on my DPMS for an A2 sight but it was not drilled for the taper pins either. I got a sight from Model 1 sales that is just like the standard A2 but is secured with 4 set screws.
