6.5 grendel
Have any one modify an Ar- 15 to shoot 6.5 Grendel ammo? How much work is it and is it worth it?

You would need a Barrel chambered for 6.5 Grendel a bolt only and a magazine! Everything else is the same.

Don't forget the ammo! :p

Assigning value to it.....what is it worth etc etc....all depends on what you want out of the round. Have you looked at the ballistics on the round? What distances are you shooting? Do you reload?

I will tell you one thing from experience it is one fine round. I have shot deer and also some prairie dogs at 400 yards. Literally turned them inside out. The guys at Sabre Defence back when they were in business done some tests out to 1000 yards that were pretty darned impressive. Here is my Sabre Defence 6.5 Grendel.

there was an article in shooting times magazine about the different calibers for AR's. i was very impressed with the ballistics of the 6.5grendal... enough so i may get one in the future for deer hunting.

Thanks for the fast respond guys...I do have a AR already but I would like to buy another one. If I'm making those changes to shot 6.5s is it worth getting something over a thousand or should I get something under $800?

It seems that all your decisions are based on the wallet, not alwasy the best way to go.

Post some links about the stuff you are looking at or post some stats on the make and model of that barrel at least.

Tell us what you are planning on using it for and at what ranges.
