So I have this Rock River mid-length upper and I'm looking to change for free float rail I'm going to get the 556 tactical evolution rail but I don't know whether to get the 12 inch on the 15 inch round what are some pros and cons for both

A longer sight radius is a good thing and other then that it comes down to weight and looks.

eitehr way if you have a fixed front sight base you give up the most solid durable front sight there is and possibly a bayonet lug. you get rail space if you need it and prolly gain some weight or lose some weight depending on whats there now compaired to what your installing. if you have a fixed fsb you will need a low profile gas block as well.
