So do the upper only or spend another $200 for a complete rifle?

Here's my newest predicament: I can build a pretty badass full rifle for $850 or I can build a dedicated upper and just use my current AR lower for $650. Should I just spend $200 more and get a full rifle or save the $200 and just switch out uppers all the time?

Id go with the full up rifle

SHEESH!!!! $180 per can for 5.45???

I have 4 cans left from a batch of 6 cans (3 cases) that I bought just a few years ago for $75 per can at a gun show. Packed in wood cases, 2 cans per case, 1080 rds per can and a can opener with each case!

I've already shot most of a case. GOOD ammo. Russian service grade 7N6. 52 grain with steel penetrator core like our 5.56 M855.

Really interesting ammo. The Russkies left an air space in the nose of the bullet, so on impact, the jacket ruptures, the penetrator keeps going, and the rest of the bullet expands like a hollow point and tumbles.

Runs an average velocity of ~2800 FPS from my SAR-2.

I figure in a few years, we'll be thinking that $180/can was a steal!

I think I'm going to go with the full rifle too. I just need to take my time and acquire a few parts at a time.
