Default 223 wylde

So I am thinking of placing a order for a white oak 223 wylde barrel. Decent barrel? Will be able to shoot 223 & 556? Thanks

Its one of the best made barrels out there for the AR platform. You are good for both calibers, hope you don't have to wait too long for it!

It is good but unfortunately, it's not as accurate as a 5.56 is with 5.56 or a .223 is with a .223. .223 and 5.56 are slightly different, so something in between them isn't gonna be the best with both but definetely better than a 5.56 is with .223

They said about four months. Which is fine, I have a month for lower to clear and then get other parts.

And so it begins. Order WOA 223 wylde barrel. Four month wait.

What is the best ammo to use. Barrel is a 1 in 7.

If I'm ordering a match grade 223Wylde barrel, it's gonna be 1:8 twist. It just has a bigger 'sweet spot' when it comes to bullet weights in my opinion.

But apparently we're past that point. So I guess we're talking 1:7 twist and presumably looking to shoot well beyond 200yds (?)...I recommend you have a blast experimenting with almost every bullet 69gr or heavier.

Every barrel is different to some degree. Many folks I know will tell you that sorting things out (getting to know your gun, barrel, optics, and the ammunition recipes they'll all combine to thrive upon) is the bestest part of dialing in a new gun.

white oak is great but i use krieger. ordered my precision build barrel off one of their varmatch barrrels with a wylde chamber.

what was said above about wylde is semi true they wont have optimum accuracy with either using off the shelf ammo but thats due more to the lax qc you find in 99% of factory ammo than the chamber in your rifle. if you load your own your going to want to fireform brass so it wont matter in the slightest at that point.

my rra match ar15a2 has a wylde chamber and i routinely shoot submoa at 300 yards with open sights....
