Natchez Shooters Supplies is running a sale on PMC .223 55gr. It's $7.99 a box, and $7.49 a box if you get at least 10 boxes. Thats the cheapest I've seen in a while.

Stay away from Wolf.

Ultramax makes Remington reloads commercially. Box of 150 runs about $70. Reasonable accuracy and good for plinking.

I have not seen a better deal lately than the one on PMC from Natchez.

But I shoot tons of Wolf for practice and it is good stuff. I never leave a live round in the chamber if I have "heated it up". I've had the polymer coating melt and stick to the chamber walls. Then, after it cools down and that round is fired the case will stick in the chamber. But Wolf is fine and dandy for practice.

Well, I bought 1000 rounds of PMC 55gr FMC for 400.00 total shipping included. Picked up my mini-14 and was going to outside range today, but was raining cats and dogs, so shot at the indoor range and all they had was 50 yard range, not the best for open sights, the lighting was dim, could not see the front sight clear, but the rifle fire good with no problems, it took the 100 round drum and the rounds with no problem with rapid fire. Will take it to a 300 yard range where I can see the sights clear, but overall the performance was good with no problems at all with 200 rounds through it.

I got the rounds online at Woodbury Outfitters.

I truly wish Natchez would ship to GA but they don't. The last batch I got was from ammoman for brass cased PRVI ammo (1000 rounds) and it was $389 shipped...

Here's another outfit, that has warehouses on both West and East coast.

Outdoor Marksman - Ammunition Rifle Ammo 223 Remington

I've bought from the one here on the West coast, since it is local right here in Oregon. They usually have about 20 tables of ammo at all the local gun shows, too. Alot of variety, and their prices are decent. Not the cheapest around, but they do run specials, so it pays to check them out.

I usually keep about 5-10K rds of Wolf 62 & 75gr HP ammo stocked up for plinking & range ammo. There is nothing wrong with it.It may not be the most accurate ammo out there but for just hitting paper and general shooting it is good ammo.
I have shot countless rds of Wolf from AR's,Mini 14's,Saiga's,and Bolt Action rifles and have never had a single problem with either the old or new coatings or the steel cases.

People just hear this crap and start rumors about stuff, and most don't have a clue about what they are talking about. If it was half as bad as most the rumors say, there would be pallets of this ammo setting in the back rooms of every place that sells ammo.

Go ahead and stay away from the Wolf ammo,It just leaves more for me to buy and shoot, and I don't have to spend time reloading my brass with expensive Hornady 75gr Amax's,Primers, and Powder.
