.22 version on the .223

Seriously thinking about buying and building a 22 version to look like my .223 just for the fun of it and the affordability of actually being able to shoot like I'd like to. Any info on ya or na or anyone already done this

Gun manufacturers actually make them for around $500, well they were $500...

Just picked up this Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 for $430 brand new. It's a good option unless you really wanna just build one

You could get a .22 lr adapter, they replace the .223 bolt carrier so you can shoot .22 lr and also come with a magazine. Last time i saw one they were around 200 bucks.

I also just bought a S&W M&P 15-22 MOE from kygunco ... They have it in stock but then I learned that they are so far behind that it takes 2-3 weeks to ship an in stock item. Been over a week now, just gotta wait it out.

I agree. I have an M&P-15 with an extra upper in 7.62 as well as a 15-22. My M&P 15-22 was at least $100 less than a 22 conversion kit and since it's built from the ground up as a .22lr, it's more accurate and doesn't have the problems many conversions have. FYI, the uppers of the two M&P's are not interchangable, but at a glance it's hard to tell the two guns apart when sitting side by side and many standard AR parts fit the 15-22.
