I think you're right, mjkeat. And I have to admit I lean that way on buying a defensive weapon but for a 22 I just want to have fun at a reasonable price. I might not buy what someone else has but try hard not to criticize some one else's choice. Good chance they know more than I do anyway!

i would rather have a dedicated upper but the less cost cmmg was too tempting to not try. a dedicated upper is a better option since swapping out the upper means you dont have to clean when changing from 22lr to centerfire. bought my cmmg conversion from a guy at a gunshow with 3 mags for 100$. price was right for me.

which upper?? dunno. dont have one.
