Default 1st SBR build

So I am finally going to build an SBR, expected timeframe for completion is 1 year for obvious reasons. Thinking of a Spikes blem lower to start with but dreaming of going stupid expensive. Anyway, to be continued...

Choose wisely for the lower.. cos it will be engraved and stuck with you forever.
Follow your heart.
Both mine are Spike's though.

My lower is PSA. My paper form 1 was returned in just over three months so don't expect a year wait.

If someone spots a UCWRG in the wild I would be very happy!

Picked up a PSA blem lower today (not sure how it's a blem) so I guess this will be a budget build SBR. I think the plan from here is QMS trigger with MOE furniture and a BCM 11.5 upper unless I find a LMT 10.5. Pretty sure if I can stick to the plan this will come in well under a grand including tax stamp.

1) Buy a lower you love or can live with...because it's yours indefinitely
2) Buy a high grade barrel/barreled upper that suits your purpose
3) I feel you get diminishing returns if the barrel is under 10" (just my opinion)

Everything else is about personal preference. Come to think of it, so are all three of the points I've listed above. The point is-- this can be an expensive endeavor, so do your part to get it right on the first try.

My current 300blk SBR project sits atop an Umbrella. Upper is a 12" PSA/FN chf. Still waiting on the suppressor end of the project. Yes, the picture is a bit fuzzy...perhaps that's intentional.

I know SBR's can be finicky if not built right, that's why I'm going with the BCM barreled upper. Then I'll just do a drop in hand guard. I haven't built an upper before and I don't think an SBR should be my first attempt.
