I took my H&K MR556 to the range for the first time today and am very happy with the results. If it had a better trigger I am sure the 5 shot 100 yard groups would have been much better. As it was the first time out in the first and second groups 1 shot went off before I expected it to. So the low shot at 6 o'clock in the first group (left group)and in the 2nd group the one at 3 o'clock opened the groups up. I was a little more consistent with the last group. So the average wasn't to bad @ 0.939. Hopefully I will get use to the trigger and groups will improve.
press the trigger only when the sights are on target. If you drift, hold until you recenter, then continue your press.
You will get used to that trigger.
The MR 556 was sitting in a Sinclair front rest and a rabbit ear rear sandbag. The trigger pull was so long with out a distinct let off point. That was the problem. Its impossible to get a shot off when you are at the correct point on the target if their is no distinct consistent let off point. I am thinking I see a Geissele HK SSA trigger in the future if I can't get use to the stock trigger
