Make friends with a Wal-Mart sporting goods manager. WM is a retailer for Colt rifles. Stores that sell them, not all do, put gun items up on shelves at the start of the day shift, around 7am. My local Wal-Mart's have sold several in the past couple weeks for $1097

Even if the AWB gets shot down, you might have to wait awhile for the stocks (AR15's, .22LR's) to come back to normal.
You might get a Remington or Savage bolt action rifle instead of AR15. Just an idea!

If you're making a stand on principle that's a whole other thing. It also means you forfeit your right to complain that you didnt get your money back out of it when/if you choose to sell at the wrong time.

When I make an investment for the long term I don't sell sell sell because someone wants to buy
I wait until I need that money and then cash in
I could sell my ar15 now and get just over double what I paid for it
Then I'd be out an ar15 if the awb goes through and since I'm not in desperate need of cash, to me it makes sense to just hang onto it for a while longer

You go to walmart everyday. Find the Sporting goods employee and kiss hiss ass to be your buddy. Then he may tell you when the stock comes in and you dam sure make yourself available to get there right then..

Saw a Smith M&P 15 on gunpurveyors.com for $2700. Thinking of buying it, but not sure if I should hold out for an Olympic Arms.
