I do not think it is worth much. Here is why. This rifle is for volume shooting. Once you grab it, or the one like it, you wanna go. It is not a precision rifle. Wasting ammo at about $1 a pop is silly. If money's no object to you, get a better 308. Otherwise this rifle will see little shooting and much storage time. If another caliber means "not 7.62", consider a 5.45x39 if available, or a 5.56 NATO.
