Default Yugo SKS

Alright so I am positive that my next venture into the gun world will be a SKS. I called up my local gun shops and they had nothing for sale. So I decided to look around online and liked what I was seeing over on then i was thinking these guns are used how good of condition can they be in? And for being used are they worth it? So if anyone has bought an SKS from them let me know how things went and if your happy with your firearm.
Also if it isnt too much trouble...mind showing me a picture?

Thank you.

I have a Yugo that I got from a gun show about 3 years ago. it was new and in cosmiline. I think I payed about 210 for it. Had all the accessories with it, and the blade bayonet.

You will not have any problem with the fellers at Classis Arms. But I will tell you if you see it on their site you need to act fast. they sell inventory quick because of their prices.

I've bought lots of ammo from them and a couple of Mosin Nagant rifles as well as a Yugo M24 Mauser. The ammo was always top notch. The rifles were OK but I think they grade a little on the high side so the ones I got didn't have quite as good bore condition as was advertised. Maybe no real reflection on them since C&R guns are sometimes a crap shoot as far as condition anyway.

I have 2 Yugo SKS's but I wanted the best ones I could get and since they are part of my main rifle battery I looked around and found a couple of "Unissued" ones for my rack. You have to be careful with Yugo SKS's since they don't have chrome lined barrels and chambers and since Yugo military ammo is a little corrosive sometimes the bores can vary in quality.

A Norinco, despite maybe costing more than a Yugo, is shorter, lighter and much easier to carry around under/between tree limbs etc.
And even the many which do not have a grenade launcher are barely considered carbines.
If cost is not a primary factor, then you might consider a really good Russian.
They are reportedly the very best which are available. You might not find an 'East German' (DDR).

Have you looked at the so-called 'Paratrooper' version?
"SKSboards" has tons of seasoned, accurate info. Many of those guys have an SKS 'lifestyle' and no kidding here.
