That example is EXACTLY why - despite the revisionist historians view of PolyTechs and Norcs today - that the Mitchell Yugos were up there with VALMETs and Galils as the TOP 3 BEST AKs to be found back in the 80's.
Thank you, I know it like the back of my hand and have no urge for any other. It's the sweetest AK I've ever shot and over the years I've shot plenty. It is on the heavy side compared to others, but it's built like a tank and shoots dead on so I can't complain. I normally use a Chinese type 63 20 rd mag when target shooting, cause it also has a bolt hold open and being shorter doesn't interfere with my aim. I always wanted to throw a good bipod on, but didn't want to add more weight. Some people add so much unnecessary stuff on their rifles that they look like Swiss army knives. You're right about the Galils and Valmets being great rifles.
