Mr. Mjkeat we all have somewhat biased opinions, tell you what you stick to your Armalite and I'll stick to my Kalashnikov and everyone will move on with their day. No hard feelings or bad blood, everyone has their preference in firearms.

In Russia, over the years, there has been ferocious competition to

replace the AKM,

with literally dozens of new designs, many arguably better, lighter,

which shot straighter. Shrouded in secrecy, there was a lot of turmoil

behind the iron curtain over keeping the AK design, but "the best

is the enemy of the good" mentality apparently won out, and

so the AK was kept as the preferred platform well into the eighties.

That rifle saved my skin along with many others, I would never take any other weapon to the field and plan to survive. In the Spetsnaz your rifle becomes your child and best friend; if I were you I'd go with the Saiga because they are true Russian made AK's and get a conversion kit to bring the look of the original AK back. Many will look down on the AK and prefer their AR because they think it's better because they hate the Russians and everything about them. When I moved to the US 4 years ago people like the ones spoken of previously burned my house down, held me at gun point, and attempted murder.

Wow that's horrible, hell of a welcome to the land of the free. Hope you've found a less ignorant community to live in.

I'm definitely a fan of the AK, it's the most rugged and dependable rifle you can have IMO. But i can also see where someone who has been properly trained with, and is used to, the AR platform would be more effective with it than the AK.

That said i'll still grab my AK before anything else

What sucks about this is they judged you based on

what their school system and government told them.

Sound familiar? Here in "Am-rikka", they want us to be

free thinking and objective, as in "we're free to think

the thoughts they tell us to, and objectivity has subjective limits"...

But why should we give Russians a fair chance, if it means

uncovering, and taking a hard look at, our shameful past?

OOPS! Don't think so. I spent four years on the wall(actually, in the ocean)

defending this nation's Constitution and people. I paid my dues.

But come on now, go to the library. Do you really think the US is

as pristine and perfect as the fed and our school systems crack it up to be?

REALLY?
