Hypothetical, if semi autos were banned, would you consider paying $2k plus for a rifle that was arguably overpriced at $500 pre-ban?

Hell No, and I haven't totally giving up, but this wait and see BS is getting old.. at the very least the old ban is inevitable..If you haven't already Joined the NRA do so, and write or call your representatives..

Unless that is a HUGE AK, I think they got the caliber wrong.

Thanks for giving up the fight already (and yes, even settling for the old ban is giving up). Had our founders did that, we wouldn't even have rights.

I've pretty much refused to buy anything other than ammo since all this madness started. I lurk a few facebook trader sites hwere some people I nkow pwesaonally trade at but I've not even attempted to buy or trade anytihng. From the distributor down everyone is looking for an extra helping of the pie and I have zero interest in feeding them. I honestly don't see anything drastic happening as to bans and the market is flooded with overpriced stuff that will come down in time.
As to the trade I don't know what your shotgun is worth. If you want an AK type rifle and you think it's worth it then have at it. My opinion is anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The prices I'm seeing on evil black rifles is well over what I'm willing to pay. Hell, I'm seeing SKS rifles with a Tapco stock priced at 600.00! I'd scared to see what one of the D or M types are going for. Those where higher before all this hoopla.Watched people fight over an M70 that eventually sold at 850.00. I about crapped. It was me I'd hang back but that's me. The 1st Dr. O election I watched 600.00 AR type rifles go to 900 then back to 700. Ban or no ban the prices will come down some. I'll wait till then.

sounds like you already gave up. maybe you should see about a refund for your NRA membership.
