You can. I owned their M70 in 7.62. I particularly liked the Tapco trigger, the chromed bolt carrier, and the dust cover that did not need to be slapped to lock.

PS... take a sight picture before you buy. The M70 wood stock has a high comb that tends to slap your cheek when you shoot with the iron sights. It is however perfect for low mounted optics. I think they put smaller wood or composite stocks on their AK's now. The tacticool commando stock is worse in every way (the real AK's never had those)

I've read that the 5.45x39 will inflict more damage than the 5.56x45

Default Yes, I like mine

I have one - changed out the wood stocks for Magpul - but my AK 74 is very accurate and I took a deer with mine last fall - It is man accurate out to a long ways.

Caveat - I had one previous to this one that CAI had to replace because of bad head spacing issue and keyholing - my new one is fine. So, just be aware of what you are looking at.

cai is good to go. if you get a clunker, which does happen, they will make it right. their philosophy is get em done and shipped fix the few that are lemons as it happens. prolly works out cheaper cost wise.

i have a few cai guns and they function fine. 2 ak47 1 vz58 several mosins

I have a Gen 1 C39 with around 2,000 rounds and zero problems, I know it's a totally different gun but it makes me feel they have good quality.
